Thank you for choosing Punakaiki Beach Camp, Punakaiki Escapes and Paparoa Track Shuttles. By making a booking with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

Cancellation Policy Cabins

 

December, January & Public Holiday Weekends

  • More than 10 days before arrival: Full refund provided.
  • 7–10 days before arrival: 50% refund of total booking cost.
  • Within 7 days of arrival: No refund provided.

All Other Times

  • More than 3 days before arrival: Full refund provided.
  • Within 3 days of arrival: No refund provided.
Cancellation Policy Campsites (Powered & Non-powered)

 

December, January & Public Holiday Weekends

  • More than 10 days before arrival: Full refund provided.
  • 3–10 days before arrival: 50% refund of total booking cost.
  • Within 3 days of arrival: No refund provided.

All Other Times

  • More than 48 hours before arrival: Full refund provided.
  • Within 48 hours of arrival: 50% refund of total booking cost.
  • On the day of arrival: No refund provided.
Cancellation Policy Holiday Houses
  • More than one month before arrival: Full refund provided.
  • Within one month of arrival: No refund provided.

Cancellation Timeframe Definition

For the purpose of these Terms & Conditions, the day of arrival is considered to begin at 12:00am (midnight) on the calendar date of your scheduled arrival as shown on your booking confirmation.

All cancellation periods are calculated from this time and are not based on your check-in time, arrival time, or the time your accommodation or service is scheduled to commence.

No-Show Policy

Guests who do not arrive for their booking will not receive a refund.

Booking Liability

The person whose name the booking is made under is responsible for the booking, all associated charges, and ensuring all members of their party comply with these Terms & Conditions.

Children Policy

For pricing purposes, children are classified according to the following age groups:

  • Children aged 1–2 years: Free of charge.
  • Children aged 3–14 years: Charged at the child rate.
  • Guests aged 15 years and over: Charged at the adult rate.

Booking Alterations

  • One alteration is permitted per booking.
  • During December, January and public holiday weekends, a minimum of 7 days’ notice is required for any booking alteration.

Check-in & Check-out Policy

Check-in Times

  • Cabins and campsites: From 2:00pm on the day of arrival.
  • Holiday houses: From 3:00pm on the day of arrival.

Check-out Times

All accommodation and campsites must be vacated by 10:00am on the day of departure.

This includes all campground facilities, which must also be vacated by 10:00am.

Dog Policy

Dogs are not permitted at the campground during:

  • 20 December – 20 January
  • Waitangi Weekend
  • Easter Weekend

Outside of these periods, dogs are welcome on campsites only and must follow these conditions:

  1. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
  2. Dogs are not permitted in cabins, holiday houses, or campground facilities.
  3. Dogs must remain within your campsite and only be walked through the campground when entering or leaving.
  4. Excessive barking or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  5. Guests must clean up after their dogs and ensure they do not disturb other guests.
  6. Guests who do not follow these conditions may be asked to leave without a refund.

Paparoa Track Shuttle Services

  • If the Paparoa Track is closed by the Department of Conservation (DOC), a full refund will be provided for affected shuttle bookings.
  • Shuttle bookings may be cancelled free of charge with more than 7 days’ notice.
  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled shuttle service are non-refundable.

Privacy & Payment Security

Our website uses SSL encryption to help protect your personal information.

We do not store credit card details. All payments are processed securely by a PCI-compliant third-party payment provider.

Punakaiki Beach Camp, Punakaiki Escapes and Paparoa Track Shuttles respect your privacy and will never sell or share your personal information with third parties, except where required to process your booking or where required by law.

Force Majeure

Punakaiki Beach Camp, Punakaiki Escapes and Paparoa Track Shuttles will not be liable for delays, cancellations, or inability to provide accommodation or services due to events beyond our reasonable control.

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe weather
  • Flooding
  • Slips
  • Earthquakes
  • Fires
  • Road closures affecting access to Punakaiki
  • Paparoa Track closures
  • Government restrictions
  • Public health events
  • Other unforeseen circumstances

Where possible, we will work with guests to reschedule bookings or provide refunds where appropriate, in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and applicable New Zealand consumer laws.

Management Rights

Management reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel a booking, or require any guest or visitor to leave the property without refund if they:

  • Breach these Terms & Conditions.
  • Behave in a way that is abusive, threatening, disruptive, unsafe, or unlawful.
  • Cause damage to the property or facilities.
  • Interfere with the comfort, safety, or enjoyment of other guests or staff.

Any costs associated with damage caused by a guest may be charged to the person responsible for the booking.

Acceptance of Terms

By making a booking with Punakaiki Beach Camp, Punakaiki Escapes or Paparoa Track Shuttles, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
